New Pediatric Cancer Center Coming to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Schenley Park
According to the Miami Herald, there is important news happening right here in our Schenley Park community. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has broken ground on a new home for the Helen & Jacob Shaham Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute, an expansion designed to advance pediatric cancer care for children and families throughout South Florida.
The new center is expected to include infusion bays, examination rooms, pharmacy services, advanced technology, research and clinical trials, as well as specialized treatments such as gene-directed therapies. Nicklaus Children’s says its broader vision is to help create a future in which children do not have to leave Florida to receive leading-edge cancer treatment.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2028.
For Schenley Park, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has long been an important part of our neighborhood. We wanted to share this significant development with our residents as the hospital continues to grow and evolve within our community.
